OPEN THREAD 20200426

This is the daily OPEN THREAD for today.

Our purpose is the utter destruction of the criminal CCP.

Anything can be posted on this thread – we have free speech.

That said, everybody else does, too.

And we do have a rule.

Don’t get in front of our weapons.

  1. Three cannibals get hired at a factory.

They are welcomed to the company and told to go to the cafeteria as long as they don’t bother the other workers.

    The cannibals promise.

A month later the boss comes to see them and tells them all they have been doing a great job, but the janitor is missing. He asks if anyone knows anything about this.

The cannibals shake their heads no.

After the boss leaves the lead cannibal screams at them. “Who is the idiot that ate the janitor?”

    One hand slowly rises.

“You idiot!” says the lead cannibal, “we have been eating the project managers so no one would notice and you go and eat the janitor!”

  2. The body parts argue over who should be in charge.

The brain says he should be in charge because he keeps everything running.

The blood says he should be in charge because he delivers oxygen to everything else.

The stomach says he should be in charge because he provides energy.

Suddenly, the rectum speaks up and says he should be in charge because he is in charge of getting rid of waste.

They all laugh at the rectum and call him names. Frustrated, the rectum shuts down and stops working. Soon the brain is hurting, the stomach is all bloated, and the blood is full of toxins. So, they give in and let the rectum be in charge.

And the Moral of this story is: “You do not always have to be smart to be in charge, just an asshole.”

  3. Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all of the other monkeys with cold water. After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result – all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all of the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs, he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked. Most of the monkeys that are beating him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana.

    Why not?

Because as far as they know that’s the way it’s always been done around here.

And that, my friends, is how company policy begins.

  5. Gail, Chemical engineering QC standards CANNOT be applied medically to individuals. Each human is as a different piece of equipment, and each has their own individual manual.
Some people respond well to herbs, some to medicines, some to both.

You have the right to your narrow minded opinion of medicine, just as I have the liberty to call you narrow minded. For someone who claims QC, however, your medical information is highly inaccurate. For instance, (1) HCQ IS available outside of hospitalization, read Dr. Zelenko, and check ICD codes. (2) Pulse ox is not 99% accurate when it comes to a person’s ability to oxygenate, which is why you check the patient and not just monitor the equipment. (3) Most nursing homes provide excellent care to their residents, not wanting them to be sick or die. Horribly insulting of you to say they all give crappy care. Shows how little you value people and their efforts. Cuomo is culpable, not the nursing homes or the staff.

It appears you armchair quarterbck medicine, rather than boots on the ground. The models numbers were wrong, but there are still people who need treatment and care. Your inaccurate information can cause harm. Please be more accurate with your posts. I cannot ask you to change your opinion, even though I strongly disagree with it. But, first, DO NO HARM! Your broad brush harms.

Try telling Dr. Raoult to stop HCQ and use just green tea and zinc for his very sick patients. SMDH.

    1. Mis-information is as damaging as dis-information. Your inaccurate posts make your posts which MAY be accurate appear suspect.

Ultimately, it is your credability and character at stake, but you do the readers an injustice when you don’t fact check the lane you are in.

    2. Oh, I don’t know, I think Gail is almost always spot on with her facts. I think you are triggered about the nursing home comment for whatever reason. I’ve never known Gail’s information to be inaccurate. She is one of the most meticulous researchers on the Tree. Her comment about the nursing homes was, in my opinion, a reaction to the fact that they are trying to get off the hook from coming law suits, which is pretty self-serving behavior this early on.

People are preparing themselves for the possibility that HCQ might not be available, hence the study of alternatives zinc ionophores. If the government locks down the HCQ, and your doctor can’t prescribe it, what will you use? Green tea, quercetin, tonic water, and some herbs might be all we can get.

We are proactive on the Q-Tree. We are 10 steps ahead of the game.

      Just my opinion, of course.

      1. Thank you for your opinion! I am not offended. Gail works hard at putting up soooo much information, that it appears not as much time is spent in vetting. I was noticing inaccuracies on the virus thread, and felt that the information on that particular thread needs to be vetted.

So, thinking it would be “helpful”, I started correcting her posts where she had inaccuracies. After the third time (see above), I stopped, as it is Gail’s responsibility to vet her posts, not mine.

Came over here to address the situation and blow off steam, rather than call her out on the virus thread, and possibly having lurkers disregard Gail’s accurate and needed posts.

I have always encouraged both herbal and synthetic medicine therapies. Each person should be able to tailor to their situation.

The nursing home workers was the last straw. If I bashed engineers the way Gail bashes doctors, I am quite sure she would give me an earful. Yet, there are issues within the engineering field or they wouldn’t need QC.

This is a challenging time for medical workers; the constant cheap shots at doctors are uncalled for. I don’t think using a broad brush to paint about some bad eggs is well heeled. So I voiced my opinion over here.

        1. Well, I guess I am looking for your “evidence” of inaccuracies. Links, studies, etc. Not just a correction, but the facts to back it up.

For example, this post is an opinion:

“The only time “hospitalized” comes into play is if withdrawing HCQ from the National Stockpile.

HCQ can be gotten at pharmacies through other manufacturers. Most insurance wants positive test and ICD code to get HCQ paid for. It is available, and between the patient and doctor as to prescribing. Cash pay is also an option.

Not everyone’s immune system is “tippy top” and some people need medications.
There is room for both EGCG +Zinc in a fairly well functioning immune system, and use of HCG+AZY+Zn for others who need that level.

It is disingenuous to paint all licensed medical personnel with a broad brush and say medicine is bad. Drs Raoult and Zelenko would probably agree. I think this opportunity for telemed and access to get HCQ if a person wants it, is stellar.”

This post, from Gail, is heavily sourced, as is usual from her:

          “On Quercetin:

What Is Quercetin? Benefits, Foods, Dosage, and Side Effects

Quercetin is a natural pigment present in many fruits, vegetables, and grains.

It’s one of the most abundant antioxidants in the diet….

Quercetin is the most abundant flavonoid in the diet. It’s estimated that the average person consumes 10–100 mg of it daily through various food sources (5Trusted Source).

Foods that commonly contain quercetin include onions, apples, grapes, berries, broccoli, citrus fruits, cherries, tea, and capers (5Trusted Source)…..

          Food sources and dosage
Quercetin is found naturally in many plant-based foods, particularly in the outer layer or peel (36).

Good food sources include (36, 37Trusted Source):

          capers
          peppers — yellow and green
          onions — red and white
          shallots
          asparagus — cooked
          cherries
          tomatoes
          red apples
          red grapes
          broccoli
          kale
          red leaf lettuce
berries — all types, such as cranberries, blueberries, and raspberries
          tea — green and black

Note that the amount of quercetin in foods may depend on the conditions in which the food was grown. For example, organic tomatoes appear to have up to 79% more quercetin than commercially grown ones (38Trusted Source)…..
          https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/quercetin#sources-and-dosage

Reference # 38: Ten-year comparison of the influence of organic and conventional crop management practices on the content of flavonoids in tomatoes. (Samples were dried stored samples)
          https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17590007

These are NOT the type of foods that will be found in the diets of many of the poor inner city types except maybe the onions and tomatoes on their burgers.”

The links to where the information came from can be accessed and vetted by the reader, if they disagree with the information.

If there is criticism within these posts for the medical profession, well, there is a lot to criticize right now. The dance videos from health care workers all over the internet right now are not portraying a very good picture of professionalism right now. If engineers were dancing up a storm while a dam collapse killed thousands, I’d criticize them, and I’d bet Gail would, too.

          1. Your point about HCQ has just triggered a thought.

FDA (under the urging of Hillary proxy BRIGHT, apparently) is trying to QUIETLY SHUT DOWN one end of hydroxy – the use outside of hospitals. Even though they can’t totally cut it off, they drive it to lower and lower availability, more and more subject to restriction, and [Comey] FBI intervention, potentially, with IV Vitamin C being their stalking horse move.

Meanwhile, INSIDE hospitals, where families are not allowed, it is possible to shut down hydroxy as well, as we see in the video.

Looks like a conspiracy to me. The right people hinting at it would drive the left into rabid fits and SELF-UNMASKING.
