Day 24 – CHROMIUM.
I was just about to bust into another thread and go, “What’s the frequency, Kenneth?”
P.S. You’re not fooling anyone by not displaying timestamps on posts.

Just figured out how to hack them in past the theme!

Hey, it’s the theme! I HATE not seeing comment numbers and timestamps.
So what’s your vote? Should I play with the theme? Are we ready for MOAR disruption?

By all means, tweak away!!!! I have a feeling that we’re all fond enough of the people and the content that we can roll with anything……but this theme/format is really irritating.

Man, this new theme SUCKS. But I may get used to it.
ANYWAY – watch out, people. MAJOR CONSTRUCTION for the next few days.

I have a newer theme in place new. It has some of the same problems of the previous one. The main page does not have a sidebar if I use the standard feed which includes timestamps and number of comments. To get the sidebar I have to use a “feed widget” that removes some of the data that is present in the normal feed.
Can only tweak so far. But this is a bit leaner.

One thing you will notice on the homepage are two links in the upper right-hand corner
THE U TREE . . . . . . . . . . . Blog Feed
The left one is the home page. The right one is a big feed which lacks the sidebar but includes number of comments in the description for each post. You can easily click back and forth between the jazzed up page with the last 50 posts and the “vanilla page” (Blog Feed) which goes back to the beginning.

it’s like Dear Diary…or Anne Landers….LOL
I like the “old way” better…
this feels like a Screen Play…are we making a movie ?
I can always adjust ….but this format seems a tad wordy…unwieldy…
have I said too much ?

Not a fan. And that’s only on 1/2 cup of coffee. The more I drink the more I won’t like it 🙂 Not sure what it is…the font…too much white space…the heavy density of the story list to the right with no visual break….not enough of a visual indent for a reply. Other than that it’s fine. lol.

Yeah, we may decamp from this sucker sooner than I thought. 😉

Authorship invitation went out to smiley2, but I did it by name instead of email, and it went to some guy in Africa! LOL. Had to revoke it and re-send. Should be in the email.

My apologies to “@smiley2” for inviting him to be an author here and then disinviting him. No hard feelings – just the WRONG smiley2!

HA! (got your PM, BTW).
Yes – YOU may be a “she”, but the person who got actual DIBS on “@smiley2” as their WordPress username *appears* (based on name and avatar picture matching it) to be an African guy. Didn’t dig any further on him – that was enough vetting to realize my mistake.
WordPress will interpret an input name which CAN be a display name or a username, and most of the time it interprets that correctly as a display name of a different username that posts on the board – not a username per se. It will come back with the true username and avatar of the person on the board. This time, it didn’t. I think I realize how that happened now – I dropped an “@” in front of it, and it took it as an indicator the name was an absolute, not a display name.
So – ahem – I was PRETTY DARN SURE it wasn’t you, unless there were “surprises on the internet” – which DO HAPPEN!!! 😉

Blame it all on WP, Wolfie!!!!!!!!!
Changing themes is a royal pain in the ass – like buying shoes – you never know if they’re gonna wear well until you’re well past the test run!

Yup. I think we’re wearing THE CRUEL SHOES right here. They get you the job, and then you never wear them again! 😉
